Measurement Guide
We want your new furniture to fit perfectly into your home. To avoid delivery day surprises, please take a few minutes to measure your space before ordering. Follow our simple step-by-step guide below.

Step 1: Measure Your New Furniture

Before looking at your layout, note the dimensions of the furniture you want to buy. You can find these on the product page:
  • Width: The distance from one end to the other.
  • Height: The distance from the floor to the highest point.
  • Depth: The distance from the front to the back.
  • Diagonal Depth: Measure from the top back corner of the frame to the bottom front corner. This is crucial for determining if the furniture can angle through tight doorways!

Step 2: Measure Your Entryways and Paths

Your furniture needs to travel from the delivery truck into its final spot. Grab a tape measure and check the clearance width and height of every point along the way:
  • Front door & back door
  • Hallways and tight corners
  • Stairwells (width, overhead clearance, and landing turns)
  • Elevator doors and interior depth (if applicable)

Pro Tip:

Look out for fixed obstacles like low-hanging light fixtures, wall sconces, radiators, or permanent handrails that might block the path.

Step 3: Compare Furniture vs. Access Points

Use this checklist to ensure a smooth delivery:
  • Can it go straight in? The doorway height must be greater than the furniture’s width or the doorway width must be greater than the furniture's height or depth.
  • Does it need to be angled? If your doorway is narrow, the doorway width must be greater than the furniture’s Diagonal Depth to maneuver it through.
  • Can it clear the hallway? Ensure the hallway width is greater than the furniture's depth or height so the movers can navigate turns.

Step 4: Measure Your Room

Once inside, make sure the furniture fits comfortably in its final destination:

  • Floor Space: Use painter's tape or newspapers to lay out the exact footprint (Width x Depth) of the furniture on your floor. Walk around it to ensure you still have plenty of traffic flow.
  • Window & Wall Clearance: Check that the furniture's height won't unexpectedly block windows, light switches, or architectural features.
